Let’s get right into it:
1.As a Remedy against Injury
I picked up on this trick during my 2-year stay in Thailand. Whenever I walked around with an abrasion or cuts to my skin, my Thai friends recommended I lather coconut oil onto the wound. Coconut oil has antibacterial properties, supports the natural healing process of the skin and reduces scarring.
2.For Dental Hygiene
Have you already heard of oil pulling? This special technique for dental hygiene is mainly applied in Ayurvedic medicine and is becoming more and more popular with us over here in the West. Coconut oil has an antibacterial effect and prevents tooth decay, thus ensuring perfect dental health.
Oil pulling has even more advantages:
- It detoxifies the mouth killing bad breath
- It’s a natural tooth-whitener
- Reduces inflammation and redness on the gums
- Strengthens the gums and jaw
- Helps alleviate dry and cracked lips
Methods of Use:
First thing in the morning and on an empty stomach, simply take one teaspoon of coconut oil and, without swallowing, gently move it about in the mouth for about ten minutes. This is very important! We want to remove all the bacteria and poisons that settle in the saliva. Once finished, spit it out and rinse the mouth thoroughly with water – while at the same time avoiding swallowing as much as possible. After that, you can brush your teeth, in the same manner, you usually would.
Oil pulling can be done up to three or four times a week. Personally, I usually have neither the time nor the will to wait for my breakfast, which is why I generally pull oil over the weekends.
3.For Skin and Hair Care
By deeply nourishing and nurturing the epidermis, coconut oil delivers a lot of moisture revitalising the skin. It prevents fungal and any other infections from spreading on your skin. Especially for people with sensitive skin, coconut oil is the perfect product – believe me, I speak from experience. 🙂
Coconut oil is the ideal means to combat split hair, to revitalise dry and brittle hair, thus leaving it all shiny and healthy. Furthermore, it promotes hair growth and acts as a preventive against hair loss. Just apply a small amount of coconut oil to your fingertips and gently massage it onto the ends of your hair.
As a hair mask: melt coconut oil and apply it liberally over all of your hair. Place a towel onto your cushion and rinse the following morning thoroughly. People! Quality rules. When using coconut oil, always make sure that you use the finest natural products on the market.
4. As a Make-up Remover
It’s a make-up remover and skincare product all in one. Just apply a little oil to your fingers and carefully massage it onto your face. It’s also great with waterproof mascara. Finally, just remove the oil with a small face towel. Don’t believe me? Please check out a few YouTube testimonials then 🙂
5. A Preventive against Cellulite
Unfortunately, there’s no super cure against the bothersome cellulite that seems to affect us women most. However, with a few tips and tricks, we can counteract against this dimpled lumpiness of the skin.
Alongside a healthy diet and plenty of water, coconut oil is the ideal deep action care for the skin. It is quickly absorbed and tightens all three layers of skin so that cellulite’s lumps and bumps are no longer as visible. Give it a shot
And now, it’s your turn!
